Generally, when you browse ClearPoint’s website, you do so anonymously. Information directly revealing who you are, such as your e-mail address, is not collected. Your IP address (the Internet address of your computer) is logged to give us an idea of which parts of our website you are visiting and how much time you spend there. We do not link your IP address to any personally identifiable information. The only other information automatically provided to us is the type of computer and operating system you are using, which is supplied to us by your browser.

Basic information is supplied to us by your organization and stored including your name, e-mail address, organizational information, and organizational contact information (work address and phone number). Your IP address (the Internet address of your computer or device) and, for mobile devices using our applications, your device’s unique device identifier (UDID) is also logged to allow certain features to work such as automatic push notifications and the audience response system (polling). In addition, we log application activity including screens, modules, and pages visited and how much time you spend there. Additionally, the type of computer or device and operating system you are using are tracked.
New Visitors
For new visitors to our website, we may collect information such as user ID, company affiliation, and self-created password to make your experience more enjoyable and convenient and provide you with information you may need. If you decide to contact us and request us to send you information on our products and services, we ask for certain information about you in order to respond to your request and provide you with accurate material on your areas of interest. Information collected is considered private and confidential and it is not disclosed to anyone except those with a need to know in order to fulfill your request. This may include, but is not limited to, fulfillment staff and the Postal Service or overnight delivery company. In addition, we provide the information to our in-house sales representatives who will follow up to ensure you received the information requested and whether you have additional questions or needs.
Established Customers
For established customers and users of our applications, when you access a ClearPoint system or site using a password and user ID, we may collect and compile personal information from you such as your name, address, job title, e-mail address, employee id number, industry, and other similar information as required under our licensing agreement with you or your company. This information is used to document and track your learning experience and assist to make your training and education more effective and efficient. Information collected is considered private and confidential and will normally only be shared with those with a need to know in order to assist with your access and use of services on our website or as otherwise authorized by your employer in connection with such services. The individuals who may have access to your information include, but are not limited to, implementation/activation staff, help desk staff, and our internal information technology staff. In addition, the system administrator designated by you or your company will have access to this information for your company’s own internal use. Beyond access by the system administrator you or your company have the ability to limit access within your company to any information.
Exceptional circumstances may arise which warrant the disclosure of your personal information. This is more fully described in the section entitled Use and Disclosure of Information below.
Cookies
When you visit our website or application we may provide you with a unique user identification, also known as a “cookie”. A cookie is a piece of technology that our web server sends to your computer when you access our website. Then, when you return to the site, the cookie will be detected on your computer. We use cookies to improve the functionality of the site, better analyze site usage, and ensure that only authorized users are accessing our applications. For instance, our website may place a cookie on your computer that avoids the need for you to enter and submit your password more than once during a visit to the site or application. The technology used to deliver high quality Internet training and education content is complex and requires the skillful use of various packets of information that are downloaded and placed on the internal storage (hard drive or memory) of your computer or device and retrieved when you use the services provided on our web site. These information packets make your training and education experience easier and faster, and in some cases are necessary to transfer to your computer the information you seek.
Use and Disclosure of Information
When you visit our website or use our applications we may collect information on your experience with our services, where on our site you visit, and application usage. This information is intended to make your experience more convenient and enjoyable, to test the validity of our training and education services, and to record application activity. We aggregate this information for our internal analysis purposes and to improve our website and your training and education experience. Application activity is recorded to allow client organizations to report on activity.
ClearPoint does not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes and will not do so unless you or your employer have authorized this. Any information you give to ClearPoint will be held with the utmost care, and will not be used in ways that you or your company have not consented to.
If you provide us with your e-mail address, or have done so in the past, we may upon occasion send you e-mail offers, or advise you of updates to the system. Information on your web address and where you visit on our website may be used in the aggregate to analyze the needs and interests of our visitors, and the performance of our technology and content. We may also use information you have given us to provide a service, measure consumer interest in our various services, or inform you about new products and services. For application users, we may regularly send application notifications to your e-mail address alerting you to of upcoming tasks or events. In some cases these notifications may be disabled by you within the application depending on your company’s policies. Organization administrators determine these policies; not ClearPoint Learning.
ClearPoint reserves the right to share customer information where we believe this is necessary to protect our rights or property (for example, to defend our intellectual property rights), to respond to duly authorized information requests of governmental authorities and where required by law. In exceptional circumstances where public or company security is at issue, ClearPoint reserves the right to share personal information with appropriate governmental authorities.
We may also provide customer information to a third party in connection with the sale, assignment or other transfer of the business of this website to which the information relates, in which case we will require any such buyer to treat the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
